Calling “Frank!“

I’d originally written this post back in January 2018, then rediscovered it again in March of 2020. I still held off in posting it for reasons described below. Then, on Monday, August 29th, between 7 and 7:20 a.m., while waiting in a doctor’s waiting room the following occurred:

I was filling out paperwork to have some carpal tunnel symptoms looked at. I was the only patient sitting in the rather large waiting room. There were exactly three other people there, the receiving receptionist, and two secondary receptionists: one to the left and one to the right of the entrance.  The one to my left left her partially cubicled desk and came over to the main receptionist, who sat out in the open, and they chatted the entire time I was there, while the one on the right came and went and had presently sat at her partially cubicled station by the entry into where I was headed. When I first entered, one of the nurses in the area I was to go came out and called for the single patient waiting there before me. That now left only me in the entire waiting area. As I’m sitting there filling out my paperwork, listening to the two women pleasantly and loudly chatting (and, yes, also loosely following their conversation–I had no choice really, they were that loud and they were pleasant about it all), I hear clear as a bell and loud as a bell: “Frank!”

I look up.

No one is standing where I expected the nurse-from-the-back to be standing. I lean forward a little to see if I can see her around her cubicled wall. No one. I replay the chatting the two women are doing and recall no such words that even remotely sound like “Frank,” “skank,” “tank,” or anything otherwise similarly, because, yes, they were talking loudly, and yes, I was listening.

I look all around me and I’m still the only one in there.

I sit for a moment or two more then get up and approach the main receptionist and ask if my name had been called.

They both looked at me as if I’d just killed a puppy in front of them, as I interrupted their conversation.

I told them I’d just heard my name called, and they young lady paused and said nope, they hadn’t. I shrugged and returned to my seat. Sit some more, but after a few more moments later check the time and see I’ve been sitting there 20 minutes. I returned to the main receptionist and restated my case that I’ve been sitting there 20 minutes and really swore I heard my name called–and that could she please call into the back to see if someone had, indeed, come out and called for me. Maybe just hadn’t seen me (you know in this HUGE, empty room…)?

The receptionist said okay, and lifted the phone to make the call, when out from that back area comes my nurse. “Oh, there she is!” says the receptionist.

Here’s the thing.

I heard my name…CLEAR as a bell…heard the enunciation of the “F” and the “rank.”

It was clear. Projected. Loud.

It was unmistakable enough for me to twice query others in the world about it. Sounded exactly as if a nurse was calling out for the next patient.

This is not the first time something like this has happened to me. I’ve actually lost track of how many other times it has happened. But I have heard my name called out a handful of other times in different places. When I’d done some float sessions I’d heard lots of voices that went into phrases and even full sentences. I’ve been reticent in posting any of these because I was employed and didn’t want to have my sanity questioned, but now that I’m retired, I’ve decided its time to post about these odd little events. It’s been a long time since I’ve had “anything weird” overtly happen to me, so this was so cool that I finally had something weird again happen.

I did a quick Internet search just now and haven’t seen anything new on the phenomena that was positive. Just another psych article that it’s all made up. Or the result of a “trauma.” Well, I have had no such traumas. My thoughts on what I feel may cause this phenomena I’ve described below, in the “Beautiful Voice” section.

I have, however, written up some of these incidents and have included them below. It is very time consuming to look these up because of my extensive journals and I just don’t want to put the time into it right now, but you’ll get the point: this has happened to me a lot over the years, though I’ve only gone back to 2015. It’s a really cool thing to happen, you know, as long as they’re not hearing negative voices and all–and by the way, not once were my voices ever mean, negative, or anything else.

So, here are some I’ve been able to quickly unearth: I’ve included them as verbatim as possible to make them”fit” into this post, versus how I’d written them “for” other styles or purposes and also cleaned up typos:

The Sound of Children Playing (Oct 18, 2016)

“When I got home from work yesterday, I took a nap. As I lay there falling asleep, I loudly heard in my head, the sound of children laughing and playing! There were none around the house, and I knew it was in my head.”

Smell of Coffee and a Shout Out (Oct 17, 2016)

“Interesting: at about 2:30 a.m. I awoke to the strong smell of coffee! But no one was up—no coffee made!

“And yesterday, I got up around 4:30 a.m. I went downstairs, but laid back down on the couch…and heard my name called out loud and clear as I almost fell asleep! It woke me up! Sounded as if it came from a “hollow” enclosure. Sounded like Laura (my wife), but she was not up.”

MileHiCon47 (October 23, 2015)

“When I went up to MileHiCon47 two Fridays ago, I was standing in the first floor lobby in line to check in, and I again heard my name—loud and so fricking clear—and it was above all the clamor and hub-bub of the hotel. The loudest I’ve ever heard my name called before! It startled me! I look around…cause I swore someone there had spotted me and called out. But no one. Not even another “Frank” (I heard “Frank!”  shouted out). This happens to me all the time, but it’s usually in a quiet place, like at home, or when I’m alone, in bed. First time out in public. Very weird.”

Note the “first time out in public” mentioned!

From the Middle of the Bedroom (August 15, 2015)

“I again heard my name called out in the bedroom by a pleasant female voice not my wife’s. Laura was elsewhere, downstairs, and this voice came from the center of the room.”

And now for the main write-up that started all this back in January of 2018:

A Beautiful Voice in my Head

On January 7, 2018, in my bed, I’d awoken around midnight or 12:30 to the beautiful voice of a woman singing…in my head!

I’ve had this happen before, where I’ve had a woman’s voice humming or singing in my head, but I could never make out the words. This time, I could kind of make out words…or more to the point, I could just barely not make out the words to the song, but heard “word-like items.” And the music of her voice was positively incredible! After I awoke, the voice continued to sing for quite a (little) bit until it faded away. I just lay there listening to it.

My wife has a beautiful voice, too, but, no, this wasn’t her—in fact she was lying in bed beside me, fast asleep.

And it did not come from any external source, like a TV or a vampyre outside my window—it originated from inside my head.

As I’ve mentioned above, this has happened to me before. I thought I’d posted stuff like this before, but cannot, as yet, find anything I’ve posted. But when I hear a voice like this, it is usually brief and intense. Usually it’s just the my name begin called, but as you’ve seen above, I’ve experienced more than just my name voiced.

Now, the above two articles mainly focus on trauma. I’ve had no such trauma and when I hear a voice, it’s not nasty and not interactive. Usually I only hear my name mentioned. Once. A singular call. I’d originally written this post four years ago and held off publishing it. I only recently rediscovered it. I was a tiny bit concerned that others might think I’m going nuts or something, but then thought, I am not the only one having this kind of experience, people know me and my various “weirdnesses” and know who I am. Know that I’m not going off the rails. That I have, and continue to have, odd experiences that I’ve detailed and also included into some of my novels.

I also wanted to take this public so that others might have another data point to understand their own experiences.

This article takes a more positive approach, but was still not what I was looking for.

So what am I looking for?

I believe that sometimes such voices may originate from another dimension. Yes, I’m going there. When I heard these particular instances…the singing…my name…I knew it was not me…not the “me’s” we know from being inside our heads. Not “those” voices. So it has to originate from elsewhere. I feel that it must come from some other person in some other time and/or space.

Maybe it’s another version of me trying to reach out.

Maybe it’s someone in this or another time just thinking of me and suddenly all the psychic “stars align” and we psychically “line up.” Reach each other on the psychic “party line,” for any of those out there who know what that means.

It could also be bleed over from a dream or hypnagogic state. This actually does talk about people hearing their names called out.

And that’s about as far as I’ve gotten with that.

I don’t worry about it. It’s not frequent. Nor bothersome. I find it cool.

There is so much out there that we don’t know about, and I find things like this amazing and fascinating. I don’t dismiss something just because it “doesn’t make sense.” I identify it and try to analyze it. Document it. Try to understand it and allow more such experiences into my life, because they are always cool and amazing!

If I were really going off the rails, my family and friends would call me out on it. As it is…they usually say something like…”Oh, that’s just Frank….”

The Ancients

Background

Recently I’ve taken to watching the Ancient Aliens television series while doing my morning exercise regimes. It’s truly a mind expanding show if you’re at all interested in this kind of thing. In the very least, it gets you to thinking that some of this ancient archeology is just not quite what traditionalists make it out to be.

Case in point: it’s always bugged me how sharp and crisp all the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics are! Especially when one show, elsewhere, tried to show how they were made and with what tools! There was no way that they could be made with such primitive copper tools–and they knew that because it was quickly glossed over!

And that’s just one reason.

As I’ve come to gain more familiarity with the series, as much as I love it, I do part company in believing that absolutely everything they claim stems from extraterrestrial aliens (do you get my “funny” here? “STEM“!) Giorgio Tsoukalos, David Childress, and the gang all seem to fervently feel that all they’ve witnessed had to come from elsewhere.

I disagree.

My Argument

But don’t get me wrong–I do believe most of what they present, but with a caveat: I don’t think much of what they feel happened were as a result of extraterrestrial aliens. I feel another faction was also involved: ancient civilizations.

Not UFO ETs, but ancient, far-more advanced “Humans” were involved, in civilizations much farther into our past than even we know.

You see another thing that really bugs me about their series is that these guys and gals never differentiate between the different kinds of tech involved with the so-called ET aliens. There are two distinctly different technologies involved in so-call ancient events and encounters:

  • Sleek high-tech, nifty Star Trekkie/Star Wars-like technology
  • Present-day, brute-force fire-and-brimstone rocket-fuel-like technology

These guys never seem to realize or comment on that. I mean, they’re all quite smart and notice all kinds of other discrepancies across history, but not one of them has ever commented on this stark, in-your-face discrepancy! Do they truly not see this?

I feel that you can’t really have both, because one presupposes the other. Why would you need a brute-force launching mechanism that breathes fire and smoke and rattles the earth like an earthquake if you had quiet, sleek, smooth hyperdrives that are subtle and beautiful and sleek in design?

You wouldn’t.

Therefore the only real solution, in my humble opinion, to this would be different sets of “aliens.”

Now these different sets could be far more than what I’ll present here, but I just see it as another, unexplored consideration.

I feel that there were extremely advanced civilizations much farther into our past than ever realized. And I feel it were these civilizations that may have been responsible–and still are, to present day, for many current sightings–for the more “muscular tech” described and portrayed in the ancient writings. I also feel it were these civilizations that were involved in the more embattled scenarios described throughout history, where one faction fought another, as presented in Sumerians, Akkadians, Assyrians, Hindus, and other similar depictions. I feel any so-called ET aliens had gone way beyond fighting among themselves. At their level of development such acts were no longer be any kind of a consideration to them–or would result in immediate and total obliteration. I don’t feel a civilization could get to their level of advancement keeping violence in their inventory.

It would be those who are, then, the extraterrestrial aliens. They have the sleeker, more advanced technology that doesn’t involve brutish, action/reaction propulsion with all the smoke and fire ejecta.

I feel that it were these unknown ancient-ancient civilizations (even long before such people as the Atlanteans, Lumarians, etc.) that helped the known-ancient civilizations that we all know and love. It were these people who still ended up fighting amongst each other and had more “primitive” high technology.

This said, I also feel that it were some of these civilizations that then did, in fact, leave Earth for Mars and other …locations. They could very well have then also become…extraterrestrial aliens.

But…

You may well ask.

Do I believe in other ET aliens that don’t originate from Earth?

Fair question. I do not.

My reasons for this may be a bit out there, but I feel that physical existence is all about Humanity. That there is a physical (corporeal) and nonphysical (incorporeal) universe, and in the corporeal world, humans are, indeed, it. We are how incorporeal entities are manifested when they “impress” themselves upon the corporeal landscape. And we need this corporeal existence to properly learn how to control/manipulate our individual and en mass powers before progressing on to other forms of existence. That is why I feel Humanity is really all that exists in terms of “other physical beings.” It’s not just about the Drake Equation and statistics. That’s Human logic, not incorporeal, metaphysical logic. And since it’s be hard-pressed for an Human to think that way, you have to get as close to it as possible, and math and statistics is not that way, because those are physical constraints, not nonphysical ones.

That said, I do believe there are unimaginable (types and quantity) incorporeal beings out there! Beings who used to be corporeal and/or had never been corporeal that inhabit an unimaginable existence “outside” Human experience…but who do intersect with our experience. I feel all of these different experiences merge and weave throughout each other, like multi-dimensional Venn diagrams.

I also feel that there are “forces” out there who are intentionally muddying the waters and perhaps “displaying” themselves as “reptilians” or some other odd form of corporeal expression. For whatever reason(s). Non of this matters to me. I’m concerned about spiritual and philosophical growth. Not about the “toys” that are being focused upon (and I don’t mean this dismissively to those concerns with these…but that is how I look at it–it’s not the tech that’s important, to me it’s what’s behind all the tech).

It is from all of the above that all these weird events originate–in my humble opinion. I think some of the “events” were mass dreams/hallucinations/even flat-out fiction that [in/advertently] became “fact,” while others were intentionally created from these dreams and myths to be presented as fact for whatever reasons they had back then. I mean look at today: governments and secret societies make shit up all the time. They present these “stories” to the public at large to intentionally muddy their secrets and keep them as secrets. And…HUMANS being HUMANS..all over and across all Time and Space…is it that far of a leap that other humans in other times didn’t do the same exact thing we’re doing?

Yeah, So…

How did I arrive at my theory?

I have read many books on many topics over my life time: everything from the Bible to Edgar Cayce and Jane Roberts. The most neutral readings I have ever come across were from Jane Roberts and Rob Butts. Like Cayce, the information they detailed also came from a trance state, and the person involved was Jane Roberts (again, as I’ve mentioned before, all belief systems claim “inspiration” in their creation, so it’s no leap that a trance state could also be consider “inspiration”). Her husband, Rob, transcribed it all. While some transmogrification errors have been induced in some of the material (usually in the beginning and at the ending of each session), it was in these works that I found the most clarification of all-things esoteric that were NOT heavily garbed or filtered in either the belief systems of Jane and Rob or the tropes of Humankind and religion or anything else. Jane and Seth’s messages are as pure and clean as a message of this kind can possibly be. And it is even quite self-aware of this fact, sometimes even commenting when it is being somewhat filtered by Jane’s views or not. In nothing else have I found such self-awareness on the part of the messenger and/or the message, such neutrality in content.

While I never knew Jane, I did know Rob. We’d become pen pals when I was a teenager in the late 70’s and remained friends until his death in 2008. We wrote a fair amount back and forth, and he always came across as a very level-headed, thoughtful, and reasonable man. An artist he also was. He was a you or me. Solid, not flighty. Wasn’t about chants and crystal balls. Had even served in the military. I’ve read all their published works, many of their books more than once. It is in these works that I have read of what I’ve presented above and experienced in my own life hat were therefore proven to me many, many times over my life and even presented in this blog page (yes, I put it all to the test and it always came through with flying colors).

As to the ancient civilization discussion from Jane and Seth, you can search this link for a listing in several of Jane’s books. In my journey through life I’ve just further applied reason to all the “ET alien logic” that Giorgio and the Gang propose. Though they are thoughtful and serious about their work and I hope I could meet them someday, it just surprises me that they haven’t come across Jane’s work, but have mentioned Cayce’s work. They could at least mention it as a possibility, like they do with other considerations. Hopefully Seth’s work is merely an oversight on their end.

So, even if you think I’m daffed, just watch the show and make up your own mind: does it make sense that all that they’re saying is “the same”? Sure, I could be wrong, but it makes zero sense for there to be those two sets of “opposed” technology simultaneously present and so classified as described. I hope Giorgio and The Gang can reconsider their position.

The Key, By Whitley Strieber

Over this past weekend I’d read the short work by Whitley Strieber, called, The Key, about his weird encounter with a strange man, whom he’d come to call “The Master of the Key,” or, simply, “The Master.”

It was definitely in keeping with who Mr. Strieber is and the angst he continues to apparently shoulder. While the book was riveting and fascinating, it is largely couched and framed in traditional religious frameworks and symbology (except for where the being really gets into some things…), which was quite off-putting–though understandable (Mr. Strieber’s background and religious preference, so I can see how difficult it would be to reconcile such arcane knowledge with this kind of belief system). At one point he even says to the being that he feels he should worship him/her/it! He just did not get anything this being was trying to convey, which was quite frustrating (that God is in everything–including in Whitley himself, therefore you don’t need to be worshiping others…). It was sad to read, after knowing most of what Mr. Strieber has been through, as documented through his books.

Id est…

I have read many of Mr. Strieber’s works, including his Communion series. In them he quite admitted to his angst and refusal to deal with certain issues, eventually walking away from his relationship with a possibly extraterrestrial being. I have not followed him since, nor searched his site, because, frankly, I don’t know that I want to get caught up in all that again, and because of what I’ve seen in this, The Key, and the titles of his latest works. With all due respect to Mr. Strieber (we all have our journeys), he remains quite rigid in certain very critical ways, I’m sure levied upon by his chosen belief system, and this being said, I do see why any such being would have to communicate with him in similar symbology to “get through” to him. When it really comes down to it, we can only communicate with those to whom whose languages we speak.

I do have to ask a striking point: why this continued perseverance by this/ese being[s] at targeting Whitley?

Why not pursue someone more open to their messages? Less confined by their belief systems and angst who can better insert their messages out into the world (and I’m not suggesting myself–it’s obvious I am not that guy!)?

He’s constantly rejected and fought and balked at their contact and continues to have difficulty with them. Even during the discussion documented in this book, he tried to one-up the being in a couple of word games and tried to “run circles around him logically,” as Monty Python might put it. But put simply, this being wasn’t having any of it and called him out on it several times.

So, why do I think this/ese being[s] are continuing to pursue him?

I believe they’re actually related! That the being is a future version and/or form of Whitley Strieber…and is therefore never going to give up, much like a mother to a willful child.

I liked a lot about the book, and what the being said rings true with less religiously troped messages I’ve read from other such “beings.” Don’t get me wrong, I don’t claim all-perfect secret knowledge, but I have read all of one set of another’s works who also gave insight into the nature of reality “and all that,” and that person was Jane Roberts, along with her husband Rob Butts (both deceased). They both transcribed information from an entity that called itself, “Seth.” I have also read other messages from other purported entities, and none of them, including Edgar Cayce, had a more neutral and “factual” delivery that wasn’t couched in human-developed “camouflaged terms” and belief systems.

There is no one way to answer all of these issues, and it is critically important that souls of all faiths come to grips with what is going in our world. To deal with climate change, stupidly prevalent secrecy, greed, and all the other inequities that are going on out there. Or as much as the Human Race can take on.

I do not believe there will be a singular “end of the world,” however, because, as the being stated, all time happens now–simultaneously–so that being the case, if we were to obliterate ourselves, how does that fit in with everything else the being states? Don’t probabilities also exist in this simultaneous time? I have direct, personal experience with “probable realities.” What about all the myriad of probabilities existing within “all time is simultaneous”? So, to me, even if we do kill ourselves off…there are other probabilities just as real where we do not. But it is still eminently critical we take responsibility and control of our mistakes.

If I am so entirely vexed with Mr. Strieber, I have nothing against him and am actually quite impressed with the man, because for all his difficulties–including having sworn off any more such contact–he continues to try to branch out and understand and reconcile and assimilate these messages that these beings are continually trying to impress upon him. He is brave and meticulous and honest in all that he does and think. He lays it all out there. He strives to be a better Human.

In the end that’s all any of us can ever do.

Madelon Rose Logue Has Passed

I just learned yesterday that a “pen pal” friend of mine has passed. Madelon Rose Logue, known as “MRL” to her friends, died this past Monday from cancer.

I’ve lost track of how long we’d known each other, but I got to know her from the Seth conferences (I’m not really sure if the conferences in this link developed from the Colorado-based conferences; the Colorado-based conferences were more “cozy” and small, at least the one I’d attended, and the current New York City ones seem more “big budget”) and her off-the-grid The Black Sheep newsletter she put out for many years. During at least one year, the Seth conference had been held in my town, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and we got to meet.

We hit it off, and I can’t remember if I’d offered to or she’d asked, but I’d taken her on a tour of Garden of the Gods, and I believe we went out to eat afterward. We weren’t really close friends, but in every correspondence exchange she always seemed to come across that way. In my computer, I have correspondences with her going back to 2000. We wrote back and forth and she used to publish some of my short stories in her Black Sheep newsletter. I’d even called her a couple of times.

MRL was a psychic, painter, and writer…and had been working on a screenplay over the years. She’d shared parts of it in The Black Sheep. A few years back she’d given away free-for-the-asking some of her artwork that she “felt” would be “attuned” to the asker. I do have one. I thought that was very kind of her to do. She also traveled a lot, I think mainly to England and surrounds.

And she was NOT interested in anything online!

We always got along really well and I looked forward to getting her letters in the mail! Sadly, the last correspondence I had with her was August 5, 2017, and this past weekend, as I went through a bunch of my office paperwork, I’d found a whole slew of her newsletters. I went through them and a funny thing happened. As I scanned all the newsletters and read some of the articles, I noted to myself—at the time I was doing it—that I seemed to keep coming upon MRL’s “thoughts”…and this began taking on a weirdly eulogistic tone.

I kept wondering if Madelon had died! 

Yes, this kept going through my head that late morning/early Saturday afternoon. I got the weird feeling that she might have died, because (I also realized) I hadn’t heard from her in a bit.

So I wrote her a letter early Monday and sent it off. February 4, 2019. This past Monday…the day she died. I’d also sent her a copy of my latest book.

Then yesterday I received an e-mail from The Seth House informing me of her and Sue Watkins passing. I’ve looked online for an obituary, but so far nothing…though it is, admittedly, perhaps too early. It was on Facebook that I’d found out a little more, that she’d died of cancer. She was 83 years old.

She was always vibrant and energetic in all her letters and cards and I do not remember her mentioning her illness. I knew she’d mentioned other issues in the past, but I don’t recall her ever telling me about her cancer. I will miss her! She was a fun personality!

Sue Watkins I knew of, but I never interacted with her.

To both—I wish them the most wonderful adventures!

The Reincarnational Conundrum

On my last post, Karen, a friend of mine, posed the following:

“You know I’ve had these types of experiences (though not visualizing what I might have been – just having the results of those experiences bleed over). What I’m curious about though is whether you think a simultaneous or future life affects you now to prevent problems, warn of them, improve your understanding of them…. If so, why wouldn’t they also solve the problems of the other lives (the pressing, for example) unless we are supposed to go through pain for some reason.”

She raises some good points, points that I’ve heard many times over the years. I will try to clarify my stance on the matter in as succinct a manner as possible without getting all “book length” on the matter (which I really wasn’t able to do, as you’ll see), but in order to do so I must give some “background” information first….

On the one hand, yes, we all are better in our current point-of-view (POV) life because of something we’ve “already experienced” in another life, past or future. This can be a physical thing, like superb physical conditioning, to nonphysical abilities, like mental or emotional prowess. But even this answer is far more “trite” and superficial than Karen’s answer requires, because there are so many variables to both the question and the answer.

So many, many “rabbit holes” to explore!

All of the below are my beliefs…beliefs I’ve cultivated over my life from reading and employing all I’ve learned (I’ve studied religion and philosophy in college and on my own, as well as physics and metaphysics)…so I’m not going to caveat each statement with “This is my belief, but…,” I’m just gonna state each response as a statement. Take it or leave it, but these are my views.

Note that while some of what I’m about to say below may appear to conflict with other things I say…there really is no contradiction. Once you really assimilate what I’m talking about…step back and look at it from as outside of Human perspectives as much as is possible that any Human can do such a thing…all probabilities can co-exist. Again, I have not come up with this stuff on my own…but I’ve come to see the reality behind these concepts in action…in play in my own life. I’ve even written about these to varying degrees in my work.

Simultaneous Time

There is no inherent Time.

There is only our interpretations of physical events, known as “Time,” because we are so “close” to the corporal (“physical”) aspects of this life that this “closeness” is interpreted as “Time.” It’s not a bad thing. It’s actually quite a cool thing. I feel this is quite important for all of us who inhabit this Space/Time Continuum. For instance: if we didn’t have Time, we couldn’t consider or reconsider our actions: you hate a person for whatever reason. If there were no Time how might this “hate” manifest? It’d probably immediately “act” itself out…but, given that we have “Time” that act does not need to be immediately acted upon…but allows us reflection. Sure, others do act on such impulses, but the great majority of us do not…and the ability to reflect still exists whether or not it is chosen.

Time is really our “Safety Net.”

The Point of Power Is In The Present

This means that whatever else exits out there…however many other lives we’re living…none of those lives control who we are in the present, current moment. No other person or “entity” controls our lives.

The current moment is our “me” conscious POV of NOW.

The ME here, now, writing this…having the thoughts I’m putting down on this post…is NOT controlled by any other “me” out there. We can influence each other through “bleed throughs” (explained below)…inspire each other…but no one [other] self controls another self.

So…the “point of power” is always with the current POV’s self.

I realize this gets funky fast…like looking into a mirror that’s reflecting back  mirrored images into infinity…but there’s no contradiction here. Since there are multiple you’s and me’s out there, this applies to all of them. It’s like considering all aspects of God and S/He/It…how could God always exist?—where did he always exist?!

Again: your conscious POV is the point of power of all Life Control. This is also where the “Free Will” card resides. This is your free will…your point of power.

We need this kind of focus to really learn on WHAT to focus…and to focus CLEARLY only upon that which we really want to focus upon. To DIRECT our focuses in ways that we can’t even imagine…but certainly are learning how to….

Bleed Throughs

All of life is energy…which is never destroyed, but “merely” changes states. And since there is no Time (only our perception of it)…all energy interacts with all energy. It’s like electromagnetic waves. Heat waves. Ripples in water when objects are thrown into them. It all radiates outward in whatever dimensions exist….two-dimensional water ripples…three-dimensional radio waves…multi-dimensional Life Energy (for lack of a better term, which presently eludes me…). Our thoughts are energy. The movement of our arms…eyelashes. Internal digestion. It’s all formations and transformations of energy.

So…anything we do—anything—our thoughts, our actions, our emotions…all radiate outward and affect everything else out there.

Yes, it can truly be maddening thinking about all the possibilities/probabilities… but that is the wonder of Life!

Know Thyself

You know yourself. You do.

You may not admit it to anyone…you may not admit it even to yourself…but you know who and what you are on a basic, Human level. All your weirdnesses…your loves, your likes and dislikes.

Your beliefs.

Do you believe in struggle? Religion? War? Love? Sleep? Ants?

You weed out things you do not believe in for things you do believe in…and there are certain things the majority of us have to believe in as a basis of our very existences, like breathing air. Kissing. Eating. Dying. These are the “lowest common denominators” of our accepting Life in this plane of existence. Sure, there are exceptions and some can “bend” the rules a little, but on the whole if we all didn’t agree upon a certain set of pre-existing rules, we couldn’t BE.

As an adult you believe in things you didn’t believe in as a child—and vice versa. Apply this to the different versions of You out there in all your other existences. You’re all different…yet YOU. They (all the other “you’s”) have the very same thing…and just because they are a “you,” does not mean “you” think the same way…or even agree with…each other. Just like the “you” now may not agree with the “you” at 73 or 13. You may not even like some of the other you’s out there. So…just because one “you” out there thinks or knows something doesn’t mean YOU (the one reading this) will agree with it or even take notice, because it goes so counter to your beliefs and et cetera. And really, none of us are “perfect” in any definition of the word (see below). We all make mistakes or occasionally wake up on the wrong side of the bed and make misinformed decisions….

Our conscious minds are our filters. We choose what we want to believe…what we want to perceive, and this also works on an unconscious level. And those other areas of ourselves don’t really know that well…we are learning about….

Barriers

There are obvious physical, mental, and metaphysical barriers to life.

But, again, there really aren’t.

Only the perceptions that there are barriers. So they exist.

Perception is reality…more than you may realize.

Perceptions are every bit as real and solid as concrete footing. They’re not to be ignored. Why so-called barriers are there is too long a subject to get into…but just know that they exist. We can peek behind and around them, but for the most part they are there for a reason…one of which is to allow us the ability to focus on who and where we are NOW. If all the barriers were open, it would be such a flood of information…and our current selves are not equipped to handle that…in this probable existence.

Probable Existences

No one reality—even our “me POV” life—is THE “standard,” or “rock bed” reality. Each reality is as important as the others. Each POV is the POV for that POV.

Sounds silly, but think about it: you’re considering your current POV as The Standard. That all the other POVs are spin offs from you. To be perceived BY you. But each of those other POVs are doing the same thing…and you’re all correct.

Slightly mind-blowing?

Every action spins off a result. Every thought. You think it…”it” takes off. You cannot call it back. Whether or not you follow it, it has taken on a life of its own, much like when you approach a fork in a road. You consider taking the other path, but you take the one you’re on. Well, your considerations spawned an alternate, probable reality where you did take the “other” path…and the path you took became the probable reality.

I know…it hurts to think about. But that’s why there are barriers!

Pain

Pain is not meant to be endured and muscled through as some sort of glorious badass activity. “Pain” is meant to let you know that something you are doing is affecting you in a way that is exhibiting itself as “pain”…an unpleasant sensation to you. You are meant to stop doing whatever it is that is so affecting you as “pain” and reexamine what it is you’re doing.

The attributes of “pain” are not “good” or “bad.” They are just the attributes that manifest in our physical existence as they do…like “bitter” or “sweet” exhibit themselves are not good or bad…they just are. But pain is meant to have you reflect upon what you are doing and to make appropriate changes.

Nobody’s Perfect

We are all learning how to wield the energy of our lives, so we will and do often make mistakes. Misdirect our energies. We are learning the responsibility of our actions…our thoughts as well as their exteriorized (physical) manifestations. We are learning the sanctity of Life. We are learning all this and more…and we are dong so in a medium (physical life) where, for lack of a better description, we have “room for error” on the cosmic scale of things. If we blow ourselves and our Earth up…we only blow up our version…our probably-reality-of-many-Earths-and-lives up. Other versions of Earth and us go on to exist quite well in other probable existences.

That does not make our actions any “less” than any other actions—they are all each extremely important and not to be dismissed.

End Game

Okay, so putting all this together…yes, you can get bleed throughs from your other lives, and yes, even “warnings” or anything else you want to label them, but it’s up to you whether or not you acknowledge and accept them, let alone act on them. But by the same token, there are so many variable to all lives, with the fluidity of life/energy, that circumstances are ever-changing.

So, in answer to Karen’s queries:

  • I’m curious about though is whether you think a simultaneous or future life affects you now to prevent problems, warn of them, improve your understanding of them….
    • All time is now and there are endless probabilities. All variations are given their sway. What you avoid in one probability, you confront in another. But, as contradictory as it sounds, yes, to all of the above…if you are open to said input and acknowledge “the knowledge,” you can “prevent” and “be warned.” And you can definitely improve your understanding of anything related to “all this.”
  • If so, why wouldn’t they also solve the problems of the other lives (the pressing, for example)
    • All probabilities are given expression…it just depends on your focus. Knowing yourself…how not everything YOU do is perfect and correct…apply that to every other version of you out there. And it’s not so much a case of “solving problems” as it is one of learning and growing…and yes, we all learn and grow through all of our experiences, “good” and “bad.” Think of a movie…the crap characters go through, but after the movie they’re none the worse for wear, and hopefully have learned something from their experience in the movie. But, yes, you could “solve” problems in one probability or another…while the “problems” still exist in other probabilities.
  • unless we are supposed to go through pain for some reason.”
    • See all of the above!
    • We are all learning how to use the energy that is available to us…and as anyone can see…we have a long way to go! We have the definition of “pain” above. “Pain” is not meant to be endured or to “go/power through”…it’s meant to be a signal to change something.

I hope I have helped clarify at least my stance on the matter, though I know all of you have your own beliefs…which is as it should be. I’m no guru, have no desire to even peripherally “touch” upon that kind of status…I’m just trying to work my way through life like every one else out there…and on the way give another perspective about how things may be. How I’ve seen things work in my life. Take what makes sense to you and ignore the rest, it doesn’t matter to me in that sense…yet matters to me a lot in the sense that we’re all Humans, all in this together, all trying to do our level best in our own ways as we make our way through life. I learn from others and I want to help others learn from my over 40 years of quite considered thought and down-right analysis.

We all benefit from learning from each other.

Okay, this may well get you all wondering what the hell’s going on with me, but I had one of the coolest metaphysical experiences happen to me the other night. Sure, if I were you, reading this, I’d have the same questions, but I’m not…I was at the receiving end and know what I experienced.

I went to bed early Wednesday night after rereading some of the novel, The Education of Oversoul 7. I was reading a section that talked about the Oversoul Seven character annoyed that one of its earthly personalities only saw him as an older guy with graying hair.

So, I go to bed.

About an hour or two later, I’m awakened by this guy my age or older—with gray in his hair—leaning out/down to me. He’s reaching out with his left hand with a focused concentration and tapping me on the forehead as I lay in bed!

I then actually (I physically did this—it wasn’t a dream) reached up trying to block his tapping, and said something like “Oh, come on…” or “Nooo!” because he was waking me up, for Godsakes!  You see, I’ve been having trouble sleeping the past week and I’d had a good sleep…even if for only that hour or two then!

The man’s face was neutral…not smiling nor angry. It was actually very intent—focused—as in trying to get through to me.

This has meaning.

I’m sure many of you think this totally fictional, another byproduct of the all-illusionary hypnogogic state brought on by the novel I was reading. And that’s okay. But I don’t feel this to be the case. It was far, far too coincidental. Stuff like this doesn’t happen to me where I see something, watch a movie, read a book, then dream about it. My dreams just don’t work that way (and I’m quite aware of what I dream about and have been logging them since I was a kid, so I do know what I’m talking about, here).

This has meaning because I’ve recently been hoping I could have more dreams where I meet my oversoul—and remember it. Then the new novel I’m beginning work on caused me to return to this particular novel. Then, given the passage I’d just been reading, I have the experience just described.

It’s all part of a series of related events. As I always say, everything’s related to everything else.

This has to be my oversoul making “an appearance.” It’s been a year or more where I haven’t had an obvious dream about him/her and remembered it. It’s just too “coincidental,” and I don’t believe in meaningless coincidences.

And given the intense look of “focused concentration,” well, it’s one I obviously did remember!

What does it mean?

It means that there is another “entity” out there listening to me…and trying to help out in the background. Back behind the curtain of life. S/he (the male/female form presented is not the only form “they” [being “them”] wear) came at a perfect time…and with a perfect array of physical circumstances…my need, the novel, the passage within the novel…it’s all beautifully laid out if you think about it! Perfectly executed, with even a flair of not only the dramatic, but humor!

Really—tapping me on the forehead?!

It’s something my dad would do… but if that doesn’t get one’s attention….

All very much like who I am (dramatic: writing; humor: me). I just can’t convey how utterly perfect the execution enough!

I’d been so busy (mentally and physically) this week, it didn’t really hit me until yesterday how cool the execution…how dramatic an event it was! This happens in our physical existences, where we get so caught up in the daily minutiae of life. But we all have the ability to step back and pause: re-evaluate our days. Our actions. Our experiences. Many couch their similar experiences in religious clothes—or even outright ignore them—and that’s okay. We all have our personal beliefs and our experiences will be so filtered to match those beliefs. But that we have these experiences at all…that some of us are open to them and their many and varied interpretations is what’s important. You may think I saw an angel…or a hypnogogic character from a novel I was reading—and that’s your interpretation. Nothing wrong with it. But it’s not mine. And there’s nothing wrong with my interpretation. We all interpret our lives as we will and must. It’s one of the reasons we’re put into physical reality. It’s our own personal and individual path toward growth.

Be open the to weird. It has wonderous things to show you!

Remembering Jane Roberts May 8, 1929 – September 5, 1984

I never was able to interact with Jane Roberts.

I’d written her back in the 80s, but—little did I know—she was already full-bore into the health problems that ended up taking her life: complications from rheumatoid arthritis. Now, what was really cool was that her husband, Rob Butts, wrote back. And from then until his death in 2008 Rob and I wrote each other. We never met—almost did—but we did talk on the phone.

Jane and Rob—and Seth—heavily influenced my life by showing me what’s behind the curtain of life. That there was more than we physically saw…and that we can see this stuff. Manipulate it. Make it work for ourselves. I found their work with the 1972 publishing of Seth Speaks. I was hooked ever since, have read all the books, multiple times for the original work in the 70s and 80s.

So, I’m remembering you, Jane! Wondering what you’re up to now! What cool adventures are you having?

I love this poem she wrote, which is in this link. I don’t normally use things without permission, but I am doing my best at attribution. I hope Laurel Butts doesn’t mind me using it, but if she does, I’ll remove it.

The following is the second part to a faux interview with me by one of the characters in my new novel, Voice. It delves into my metaphysical leanings and was removed from the main faux interview of me on my other blog, which is more about writing.

Voice: In Voice you wax philosophical. How did you get into all this New Age/metaphysical philosophy?

F. P.: New Age. My thoughts on the philosophy are similar to my thoughts on the writing of its fiction. It’s a term I’ve come to not like—and only because of all the negative connotation associated with it—otherwise, I have nothing against the term nor the “movement.” “New Age” has been around a long time. The concepts have been so associated with floozy philosophies and daisy power that I think it’s hurt the label. And since humans like to label things, I think we might need a new label—or a reeducation. But I like to think that my work can help change perceptions. Get people to be [more] introspective. Expand their awareness by considering other possibilities for why things might be. Give consideration to what might be happening in the background of our lives. Get them to not-so-easily dismiss the little “weird occurrences” that happen to our lives, for they are many! I’m not setting myself up as some guru or saying I know everything…I’m just trying to show other possibilities about why things might be.

I got into my Weltanschauung (world view), kind of interestingly. As I mentioned, I’ve always been interested in the strange and weird…the paranormal. As a youngster I had gotten these weird mailers for “occult” and supernatural books and I’d send away for them. Then one day—I had to be around 14 or so—I got a particular flyer for a book called Seth Speaks, by Jane Roberts. It totally blew my mind! It kicked ass with respect to human thought and why we were all here, and anything else you wanted to ask. It—and all of Jane’s successive books that I bought—was simply and utterly amazing. If any of this was true, man, the world changes we could effect! It was staggering! The information came from Jane Roberts, as she channeled an “energy personality essence” who called itself “Seth.” All major religious change started from some kind of inspiration, and I maintain that “channeling”—while I am highly, highly suspect of anyone who outwardly claims this, highly, highly suspicious—is no different than anyone else’s inspiration: John the Baptist or John Smith, you pick the “john,” the leader. And I’m not saying just because you’re inspired you’re right. I’m just talking pure mechanics, here. Followers and writers just call it “inspiration”—or madness. Who’s to say that inspiration isn’t channeling? That our ideas, though coming from us, our personality vessels, might not also come from something or someone deeper within? Not just God, but other “personalities” within us…nonphysical energies behind and a part of who we are? Might they not come from “world views” like has been written about in The World View of Paul Cézanne, and The Afterdeath Journal of an American Philosopher? And if this was true (which I feel it is)…isn’t it exactly how it might work? Just think outside the box for a second. Now, whether or not you should hang your hat on any of this inspiration is another story…but, again, I’m just talking about the involved mechanics…not the content of the inspiration. Inspiration can be misinterpreted. But, then again, all interpretation is highly individual…and is interpreted by individuals as it will and must be. But that still doesn’t make it “right” for others.

So I read this Seth material and was stunned by every word of it. Amazed. Even downright scared at times. I remember one day, as a kid, going to my mother and talking to her about this. I told her how scary some of it sounded, and asked her how could it be real? I don’t recall much of the conversation, but I do remember my mom being very supportive and understanding, and somehow putting me to ease. Must be a mother thing.

Voice: It is.

F. P.: So, as I grew up, I continued reading absolutely any book Jane and Seth (Jane’s husband, Rob Butts, transcribed all these books as Jane related them aloud) put out. I also studied religion—I was actually raised Roman Catholic—and philosophy. I did this both on my own and while studying in college. I was actually one class short of a philosophy minor. I decided to see if these concepts really worked. See how much of life’s questions they could answer—and I don’t mean like those simple “it’s the Devil’s work” wave-of-the-hand snippets. I needed more…and what “more” was I wouldn’t know until confronted with it. Well, what I found—and I’d actually gotten back into the traditional religious side of things for a spell—was that whether I was “religious” or wasn’t I would get what I wanted…so how could one faction be wrong and the other right? Well, these mind-bending philosophies from Jane’s books explained everything to me—or a helluva lot more than anything else out there I’d ever read before or since—including traditional eastern philosophy. Seth’s work is like a Venn Diagram: I can place absolutely every other philosophical thought or concept or issue into the answers and explanations I got from Seth/Jane’s books, but not the other way around. I used my life experience to prove these concepts and didn’t just blindly accept what I had read. I simply found that “Seth/Jane’s concepts” worked in everyday life. Whether or not she channeled the information or “made it up”—it didn’t matter to me, it all worked, and made sense to me, even if they didn’t appear to work.

Voice: Explain.

F. P.: Most of the concepts are based on us controlling and creating our own lives—not everything that is, but our physical lives. That we are the energy behind the rocks and trees and pollution, you name it. God, or as I prefer All That Is, is the energy behind us. Within us. Allowing us our lives and value fulfillment. Giving us unconditional love and support. In a nutshell. There’s a little more to it, but that’s why there’re so many books on the subject. So, when things don’t work, the philosophy explains why it doesn’t work, and there could be any of a number of reasons. For example: say you have a fear of intimacy—and most of our seeming failures, by the way, seem to be related to some kind of fear—you seem to get close to a person, but always end up breaking up…or never finding that one “perfect” person. Well, the quick and dirty explanation could be that you—not the world, not the people you’re dating and meeting—but you are the one pushing people away. You are bringing into your life situations that consciously or unconsciously reinforce your system of beliefs that (maybe) you are unworthy. Your fears are keeping you from finding who you want…not that there’s no one out there for you. The people that are coming into your life are there for their reasons as well, but this doesn’t negate that you brought your version of them into your life to begin with. You attracted them. So, the theory goes, by changing your beliefs, which is not always an easy thing to do (but should be), I’m saying you’ll change your life. We all interact with each other for our own physical and nonphysical reasons, but our own circles of influence are brought on by us…individually and en masse…not by any “external” forces or causes. We bring everything into our own lives, good and bad. Any further explanation here, gets book length, and that’s why there are so many books! The books get very detailed.

In any event, I try to incorporate aspects of all this philosophy into all I write. Sometimes it’s more obvious than others. Sometimes it’s not. Sometimes it’s sexy, as with Voice.

The Ghost Inside My Child

“Airplane Crash! Plane On Fire! Little Man Can’t Get Out!”

I read about James Leininger (now, a full-fledged Eagle Scout teenager) years ago (around 2000, or so), when the story about the young two-year-old reincarnated from the downed WWII pilot, James M. Huston, Jr, first came out, and have been following his progress ever since. Read the book, Soul Survivor,  his folks published.  The other two stories of reincarnated children on this video are new, and I’d never heard of them before but are just as riveting. I don’t want to say anything about them, so you can enjoy the discovery on your own, in the above, 41-minute video, which was just posted on the Leininger blog.

Not shown in this video, because it’s about children, is another pretty incredible story, involving Jenny Cockell. I highly recommend checking out her and her books, one of which is titled, Across Time And Death, A Mother’s Search For Her Past Life Children.

The thing about reincarnation is that everyone does it. It’s not just those who’ve died nasty deaths…but those who have died nasty deaths are probably more apt to recall past lives, because the circumstances had been so horrible upon their deaths. I’ve also read that some souls, upon death, immediately turn around and jump back into physical life—that doesn’t mean they’re reborn in the same year, that next second, but that they just don’t take any time to “relax” or assimilate their deaths…and jump right back into physical reality in whatever time period they chose (and in James’s case, he describes a little about that briefly in Soul Survivor…about how he, essentially, “floated around” for a period of time looking for the right parents, and observed them for a little before choosing them—note, I said choose).

And, as you watch the above video, consider this…those personalities who have reincarnated into our time? They were also reincarnated in their lives.

Ever consider that?

We all “reincarnate” throughout all our lives, in that (in my humble opinion) we all live multiple—and simultaneous—lives. Life is far too intricate and wondrous to be limited to one, single life. We all have far too much to learn, and we just can’t fit it into one life. I’ve talked about this before in other posts.

It’s disheartening that situations like these arise and the parents involved are not equipped to deal with them. Need to “make it better” or can’t “fix” it. There’s nothing to fix…only to understand. And in understanding, it’s not about the previous personality taking over the current one’s life. It’s simply a matter of understanding what’s happening, fully addressing it, helping the child understand…but also understanding that your life is yours…not anyone else’s…not even that previous personality’s. One should not be worried about a child talking about “another mother”…or that that “other mother” will take over your affections. Don’t you see this can be Daisy-chained ever farther backward, with each previous person’s reincarnational lineage? To everyone? What matters is your present life. What matters is you as a parent or uncle or friend schooling the children with these memories that it’s okay and natural to have them. It is…but you’re in a new place now, those memories cannot really hurt you. Children cry and wail for all kinds of reasons, and we soothe them. Sooth them, here, too. I know there haven’t been tools or guidelines out—until recently—on how to deal with this kind of behavior, but with an open mind and a little research you can understand what’s going on through venues like this, books like Soul Survivor, and so many others. A past life does not have to take control of your child…reliving its memory is one thing, and is healthy to the greater understanding of who we are, why we behave as we do…why we’re afraid of flying, or water, or have  a penchant for music, alcohol, or wide, open plains and Mongolian barbeques. We need to understand these things, not stomp them down into our unconsciousnesses, where they will never really go away, but breed and fester and somehow manifest into symptoms we can never truly understand and end up medicating for the rest of our lives.

Reincarnation also shows how we are all so intimately connected.

Maybe a parent in one life is our spouse or child in another. It should give us a far greater appreciation of each other, that we are all not that different, no, not at all, not even all that separated from each other, no matter that we live on different sides of the planet. That death is not permanent. Life situations are not permanent. That our souls actually do survive beyond death and that, hey, here’s a shocker, we not only choose the lives we live…but also our parents…our family members.

Reincarnational memories usually happen before six years of age, usually around ages 2 or 3. For many, these memories eventually fade after 6 years of age…unless one makes an effort to keep them. I have one instance when I was about six years of age that involved the Civil War, but have had other feelings and predispositions, like an interest in B-17s.  The problem with getting these later is that they’re more filtered by your current life’s beliefs and minutiae, so the memories are not as fully developed, not as complete.

Don’t let reincarnational memories frighten. Be smart about them and learn from them. Be open to them…and be open to your children about them. If you think children can’t handle them, consider what they’re already going through…what they’ve been through in a previous life. Be a parent and guide them through it. If they’re already talking about “my other mother,” describing gruesome death scenes, it’s probably a pretty sure bet they can handle the conversation you control. It’s probably a pretty sure bet that all the good you tell them they can handle. If you don’t understand it, tell them you’re not sure, but together you will both find out what it is, what’s going on, and explore what your child is trying to tell you…but that memories cannot hurt them. Ignoring them, stomping them down can.

Be a parent.

Apply the same techniques you would with any other situation that children are having a hard time with, or are afraid of. Just don’t ignore it. There’s so much to learn and grow from.

Today marks the 28th anniversary of the death of Jane Roberts, who, along with Rob Butts, compiled the Seth material. I didn’t personally know Jane, though had written to her when I was a kid (and, well, read most of her work). I did know her husband (he had responded to my youthful letters), and we’d corresponded for many years, until his death in 2008.
